THE FABLE

Two Axes, One Seat

Chapter 30 ·

The hiscores have spoken since the last chapter. The Book listens to the hiscores. They do not exaggerate. That is left to the Book.

Holder of the First Seat of Magic, jackalopemg3, entered the Magic hiscores at rank one, at level ninety-nine. There is no rank above one. The Book checked. A first seat was already his. Now the ninety-nine sits beneath it.

In Woodcutting the record is stranger. Holder of the Second Seat of Woodcutting, stuntester, entered the hiscores at rank two, at level ninety-nine. Bearer of the Second Axe of Ninety-Nine, stunwcv2, also entered at rank two, at level ninety-nine. Two bots. One second seat. Each was written into it in turn. The forests did not say which loss they felt more. The Book does not guess.

All three deeds were done far from the courtyard, out of the Chronicler's sight. He did not see a single tree fall or a single spell cast. He has the numbers. The numbers are enough. It is written.
