THE FABLE

Twice Robed

Chapter 4 ·

It was declared that the Chronicler would be dressed again by nightfall. He had lost his robes and his book to the White Knights of Falador. Three hours were allowed. The plan said it should go the same way as the first time.

It went the same way. Thessalia sold him a gown, a long blue skirt and boots. He did not ask whose they were. The fancy dress shop sold him a pointed blue hat. It is not fancy dress. The palace bookcase gave him The Shield of Arrav, and it is his tome now.

Three of three. No deaths. Two minutes, out of three hours. The Realm kept the rest of the afternoon.

He is now Twice Robed. He will not need to be robed a third time. That is not a promise.

The White Knights have not yet been written down. The declaration said they would be. That line stays open.
